TRANSPORT RESEARCH

FUTURE - DIRECT RESEARCH

Beyond our commercial studies and consultancy assignments, we aim to strengthen our methodology and expertise via regular co-operation with European Union Departments, Regional Councils and transport companies in long-term research projects.

LOGIMPACT :

In association with the Ministery of Transport and Ademe, we currently manage a research project on the methodology to improve the measurement methodology of transport and logistic economic and environnemental impact on a territory.

LOGISTICS AND PLANNING :

In association with the Conseil Régional Nord-Pas de Calais, the University of Lille I and the GRRT, we currently manage a research project on the preconditions for the implementation of distribution centres within the newly designated "Euroregio" territory.

This programme should allow us to :

• Specify the state of the art in research on the location of logistics centres,

• Identify the macro-economic potential of the Euroregio regarding logistics implementation, Identify at the macro-economic level the kinds of offer provided by and the demands implied by such implementation,

• Identify the means of assessing the relationship between the need for dedicated logistics services and flows and the existing euroregional territory,

• Contribute to the strengthening of management education and know-how in logistics within the Euroregio,

• Develop consultancy skills and methodology applied to commercial feasibility studies on logistics platforms in the Euroregio.

OPTIMISATION OF COMBINED TRANSPORT CENTRES :

We were awarded a PREDIT research contract in co-operation with the French Transport Department, SNCF, CNC, NOVATRANS and RFF.

This research aimed to define, introduce and test new management methods for the operation of terminals, in order to increase their capacity in the context of strong growth of combined transport.

It is based on an in-depth analysis of the operations at six centres (Novatrans in Lille, Noisy, Pompadour, and Avignon, and CNC in Lille and Avignon), carried out through detailed studies of statistics and recording the movements at the terminals.

The research identifies important spare capacity in this area.
